Free or paid

Under Price and preview, choose whether the book is free or paid. A paid book has a price in credits ($1 is 100 credits) and a number of free preview pages. A reader who hasn't bought it reads the cover and the free pages, then reaches a page that offers the rest of the book. The hidden pages are never sent to their browser.

Publish

Under Publish, the checklist shows what is still missing: a book needs a front cover, and a paid book needs a price. Then choose:

• Publish to the library: the book appears on the Books home page and in search.
• Publish by link only: the book is readable by anyone with its link, but is not listed.

Back to a draft takes it down again.

PDF downloads

Signed-in readers who can read the whole book can download it as a PDF in any of its languages. The PDF keeps the same layout: picture left, words right.

Show your books on your own website

Your own DevGhouse website can list your published books. Turn on the Books feature for the website in its settings, then the site reads them with its website token from GET /api/website/books and GET /api/website/books/<slug>?locale=es. Paid books show only their free preview pages there too.
